Drake Pauses Apollo Show After Fan Falls From Balcony

Drake Pauses Apollo Show After Fan Falls From Balcony

Drake paused his show at the Apollo Theater this past weekend after a fan fell from the mezzanine into the crowd below.

The Toronto rapper was performing at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York, for the second of two intimate shows sponsored by SiriusXM.

A crew member rushed forward and spoke with the rapper, who then left the stage. "Just have to make sure somebody's OK," Drake told the audience.

The venue's lights were turned on, and security guards could be seen running through the crowd toward the spot where the man landed.

After about 15 minutes, the venue announced that no one had been injured in the incident.

"Everybody is absolutely OK," an announcement was made. "They are being checked on. Nobody's hurt. But I got even-better news for you: We're at the Apollo, so the show must go on."

In a statement shared with Pitchfork, a representative for the Apollo Theater explained, "Unfortunately, last evening an incident occurred with an audience member who landed in the orchestra from the lower mezzanine. Drake, Apollo, and SiriusXM halted the show immediately when learning of a potential fan injury and standard protocols were taken."

"They were seen immediately by EMS on site. The fan and other audience members reported that they were OK. No major injuries have been reported. The Apollo is investigating the situation further," the statement added.

A$AP Rocky Reflects On Violence In Hip-Hop On New Track 'Same Problems?'

A$AP Rocky recently shared a new track called "Same Problems?" that reflects on violence in hip-hop.

"N*** dyin' every other night/N*** cryin', that's a part of life/Lyin' to my face, tryna say that it's all good/No, I'm not alright," he raps.

"How many problems get solved?/ Am I a product of things that I saw?/ How many problems get solved?/ Am I proud of the things in my songs?" he further asks in the single's chorus.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rocky explained that he wrote the track because he "was feeling remorse."

"I think I was feeling plight. I think I was also feeling a sense of guilt, because every time we lose somebody in our community, we all - especially me - have a habit of just saying things like, 'It's messed up. It's wrong. Why do these kind of things happen?'" he said.

Cardi B Recalls Moment She & Offset Learned About Takeoff's Death

Cardi B Recalls Moment She & Offset Learned About Takeoff's Death

Cardi B has opened up about the night she and her husband Offset learned about his cousin and Migos member Takeoff's death.

During an appearance on "The Jason Lee Show," Cardi said that she and Offset were supposed to go to Lala Anthony's Halloween party on that night but were not able to go after their daughter Kulture vomited on her dress. Later in the night, Offset received the tragic phone call.

"We were in bed. We were supposed to go to LaLa's party in New York, and my daughter threw up all over my costume," the "WAP" rapper said. "Halloween was over 'cause it was just so much throw-up on the costume, and I ain't have nothing to wear."

"So we just fell asleep, and out of nowhere, Offset's phone kept ringing, my phone kept ringing. Offset picked up the phone, and he was just like, 'No!' He's screaming and screaming. He's screaming like, 'No! No! No! No!' He's like, 'TakeOff is dead,'" she continued. "I smacked him and said, 'Don't say that!' And then he's just like screaming and throwing things, throwing up, running all over. And I was so scared, I was crying so much. It was terrible."

Takeoff was shot three times in the torso and head and was killed at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas, on November 1, 2022.

Patrick Clark, who is suspected of killing Takeoff, is currently out on a $1 million bond and has a court appearance in March.

Taylor Swift And SZA Quash Feud Rumors

Taylor Swift And SZA Quash Feud Rumors

Taylor Swift took to social media earlier this week to effectively shut down the rumors of a feud between her and SZA.

As Swift's "Anti-Hero" and SZA's "Kill Bill" were on a head-to-head clash, vying for the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, the argument between fans led to rumors that the two singers were beefing.

Earlier this week, "Anti-Hero" enjoyed its eighth total week at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming Swift's longest-leading single, surpassing the seven weeks 1989 single "Blank Space" spent atop the chart.

Swift shared a screenshot of Billboard's tweet about the achievement on her Instagram Stories. She also wrote, "Been listening to [SZA's] album nonstop. Absolutely adore her music. So much love and respect for her!!"

SZA, whose "Kill Bill" is No. 1 on this week's Hot 100, reposted the story adding, "Congratulations to Tay Tay! And thank you so much your album and writing is phenomenal. as always."

Earlier in the month, when SZA's "Kill Bill" held onto the top spot on the Hot 100 for a third week, she took to Twitter to refute the suggestion there was any bad blood between her and Swift.

"Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that," she wrote. "I don't have beef [with] ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing! Everyone's jus tryna do their BEST as we all should. LOVE TO EVERYONE."
