Saweetie Drops New Summer Anthem 'NANi'

Saweetie recently released a new single, "NANi," along with a music video, via ICY/Warner Records.

"NANi" is Saweetie's second solo single this year after "Richtivities," which arrived in February.

The song, produced by Jean-Baptiste, Karl Rubin, Shawn Wasabi, Ryland Blackington, and Ryan Buendia, looks set to become a big dancefloor hit, given the track's infectious beat and the singer's aspirational bars.

"'Nani' is a record about empowering yourself to walk through any room you enter feeling beautiful, confident, and unstoppable. Commit to the work, get the bag and have fun doing it!" says Saweetie.

The Chandler Lass-directed visual sees Saweetie hosting a summer pool party with her "Nani" girls, where she shows off hypnotic dance moves and carefree energy.

Chance The Rapper Drops DJ Premier-Produced 'Together'

Chance The Rapper Drops DJ Premier-Produced 'Together'

Chance the Rapper recently dropped his latest single, "Together," produced by the legendary DJ Premier.

A self-directed video for "Together" centers on lyrics of reminiscence and pride, against a backdrop of vintage personal home video and archival footage from community-led political movements through history. Nostalgic footage of Block club parties, barbecues, and Black Panther rallies contextualize the varying nature of Black communal spaces.

"'Together' is really a call to action for Housing Justice in Chicago and abroad," said Chance the Rapper. "It's one of the key themes of the Star Line project, and for this song I wanted to try to paint that point with nostalgia rather than trauma. Losing granny's house is a fear and reality a lot of us deal with and instead of lingering on the negatives of that reality I wanted to highlight why those spaces are so important: they're where we build memories, move family when they need somewhere to stay, raise our kids, do hospice. All of it."

Last week, Chance performed the newly released song live on Season 25 of "The Voice" for an estimated audience of 4.7 Million viewers. The exclusive performance was a mesmerizing display of Chance's artistry and passion for connecting with audiences through his music.

Sean Combs Apologizes After Being Seen Assaulting Cassie In Newly Released Surveillance Footage

Sean Combs Apologizes After Being Seen Assaulting Cassie In Newly Released Surveillance Footage

About two days after footage from a surveillance camera showing him physically assaulting his girlfriend at a hotel in Los Angeles in March 2016 surfaced in the media, Sean "Diddy" Combs has issued an apology.

The footage published on Friday (May 17) by CNN from the surveillance video at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City shows Combs assaulting the pop & R&B singer Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, known professionally as Cassie.

A video uploaded by Diddy to social media on Sunday (May 19), shows him apologizing for his actions.

"It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that," he says in the clip. "I was f---ed up, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I'm disgusted now."

"I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab," Combs added. "I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry. But I'm committed to be a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I'm truly sorry."

The surveillance footage corroborated an allegation of physical abuse that Ventura included in her sex trafficking lawsuit filed against Diddy last November.

Cassie had alleged in her complaint that Diddy "became extremely intoxicated and punched [her] in the face" at the hotel. She claimed that Combs screamed at her when she tried to leave the room and followed her into the hallway of the hotel. She added that he threw glass vases at her, "causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape."

Cardi B Says She's Not Dropping A New Album This Year

Cardi B Says She's Not Dropping A New Album This Year

Cardi B says she is not dropping a new album this year, as she had promised a few weeks back.

The rapper made the announcement in a conversations with fans online about the follow up to her 2018 debut album.

It has been six years since the rapper released her first studio album, Invasion of Privacy.

Cardi B had earlier indicated that her new album is expected to be release in 2024.

Apparently provoked by a fan's tweet poking fun at Cardi's past promises of her delayed album, the 31 year-old artist wrote on X, "Exactly and I tell myself this all the time .. and I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the a**."

She followed it up with the disappointing statement, saying, "Anyway NO album this year I don't care I'm relaxing this year .. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer."

In celebration of the sixth anniversary of Invasion of Privacy in April, Cardi B had promised, "6 years later I'm preparing to drop the next one this year.. it's so different from what everyone is expecting and I'm sooo excited."

Eminem Promotes Upcoming Album With Slim Shady Obituary In Detroit Newspaper

Eminem Promotes Upcoming Album With Slim Shady Obituary In Detroit Newspaper

Eminem ran a fake "Slim Shady" obituary in the Detroit Free Press earlier this week to promote his upcoming 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grace).

The message features a photo of Eminem in a white Jason Voorhees hockey mask. The headline reads, "Slim Shady Made Lasting Impressions" and the subhead says, "Fans 'Will Never Forget' Controversial Rapper."

The obituary reads: "A product of Detroit who began his career there as a rogue splinter in the flourishing underground rap scene of the mid to late 1990s, Shady first became a household name in 1999 with the debut of his playfully deranged single 'My Name Is,' which - along with its uniquely eye catching video - exposed the young artist and his lyrics to a wider audience."

"Ultimately, the very things that seemed to be the tools he used became calling cards that defined an existence that could only come to a sudden and horrific end. His complex and tortured existence has come to a close, and the legacy he leaves behind is no closer to resolution than the manner in which this character departed this world. May he truly find the peace in an afterlife that he could not find on Earth."

The album announcement came in April in the form of an "Unsolved Mysteries" episode featuring Eminem meeting his demise in search of "who killed Slim Shady?"

The Death Of Slim Shady will serve as a follow-up to the rapper's 2020 album, Music to Be Murdered By, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving Em his historic 10th consecutive leader.

Drake & Kendrick Lamar Diss Tracks Dominate Billboard's Hot Rap Songs Chart

Drake & Kendrick Lamar Diss Tracks Dominate Billboard's Hot Rap Songs Chart

Drake and Kendrick Lamar's diss tracks hog the limelight on Billboard's Hot Rap Songs chart dated May 18, claiming the top six slots on the list.

Lamar's "Not Like Us" debuted at No. 1 on the multi-metric Hot Rap Songs chart. The song logged 70.9 million official U.S. streams in the tracking week ended May 9, according to Luminate.

The song's streaming sum becomes the highest one-week count for a hip-hop title, since YouTube song user-generated content was removed from chart calculations in 2020, taking the honor from Drake's "Way 2 Sexy," featuring Future and Young Thug, which racked up 67.3 million streams in its debut week.

"Not Like Us" also registered 5 million radio audience impressions and sold 15,000 downloads in the same tracking period.

Lamar also captures the No. 2 slot with "Euphoria," which stays firm at that spot for a second consecutive week, thanks to 49 million official U.S. streams. "Like That," which stayed atop for six weeks, is at No. 3 in the latest week.

Drake's "Family Matters," debuts at No. 4, riding on 38 million streams, while his first entry into the battle, "Push Ups," is pushed 4-6 in its third week on the list. Lamar's "Meet the Grahams" opened at No. 5.
